Tokyo local Scott Larson of Asia Video Support was in pre-production with Virgin Records, and needed a production boost. A cast, a support crew for the award-winning DPs, and gear all needed procurement for a week-long shoot that was veering over budget fast.
Faced with a tight deadline and limited budget, the challenge was to secure the right locations and talent while maintaining the artistic vision set forth by director Bob Harlow. With production costs escalating, finding solutions quickly became paramount.
Straight off the heels of Charli XCX’s “Superlove” and ASICS’ “Mix Up Your Run,” Jamie Morris was primed for securing locations and crew to bring director Bob Harlow’s bold vision to life.
Jamie took the helm of the production at the request of producer Emory Ruegg to deliver iconic locations such as the cat cafe, funky dance club, the JR train, as well as a pristine mountain river for the finale.
Actress Coto Mukai romps around Tokyo, ending up in an idyllic mountain town where all hydraulic hell breaks loose. While the specifics of the special effects remain our little secret, the stunning visuals and creative storytelling brought Harlow’s vision to life.
The collaboration resulted in a visually captivating music video that left both the director and the artists thrilled with the outcome.
The production not only met its creative goals but also stayed within budget, demonstrating our team’s ability to adapt and deliver under pressure.
This project underscores our commitment to high-quality production, even in challenging circumstances. With effective collaboration and decisive problem-solving, we transformed setbacks into an opportunity for creative excellence.
